Our Mission

It is too bad, in a way, that the great races and times on the road must live only in the memories of those who were there. -- Charley "Doc" Robbins (Charley Robbins' Scrapbooks)

New England has a long and rich history of distance running excellence. From Monday, April 19, 1897 when 18 men toed the line at Metcalf's Mill in Ashland for the first Boston Marathon to present day, New England has led the way in the sport of distance running. Our mission is to capture this rich history and preserve it for all to enjoy.
